Networked Information Service - Abstract: At this stage of the information revolution, we are witnessing the following trends:

- The explosion of the digital media
- The digitization of the legacy information
- The consolidation of data and the creation of ever-larger data farms
- The blurred line between the network and the storage, the transport and the source

These trends will lead to the creation of the Networked Information Services. The Networked Information Services will help information use (from an enterprise to a consumer) to store, protect, organize and share information through a network. We'll go over in this talk the key infrastructure building blocks that will enable such Networked Information Services.
