The 2009 Lee Center workshop will be organized around a series of faculty presentations directed to a general audience. In these presentations, we will spotlight not only recent research, but also overview technical areas they represent. In addition, we are pleased to have as plenary speakers Gerard Holzmann from The Jet Propulsion Lab and David Tse of U.C. Berkeley .
There will also be an afternoon poster session in which student representatives from each member group will focus on their recent research results. This session will give attendees an opportunity for in-depth discussion with students and faculty on a wide array of topics. The meeting schedule will be posted at a later date.

The Lee Center for Advanced Networking at Caltech
Ubiquitous communication and computing technologies are changing the world. Online communities, e-commerce, e-service, and distance learning are a few of the consequences of these technologies. The Caltech Center for Advanced Networking has been established by a donation from the David and Ellen Lee Foundation. Our goal is the creation of a world wide distributed computing system that connects people and appliances through wireless and high-bandwidth wired channels and a backbone of computers that serve as databases and object servers. This is a multi-disciplinary challenge, with issues in modeling and protocols, circuits and coding, and propagation and antennas. Our application space includes e-commerce and e-service as well as education and collaboration among scientists in virtual laboratories.
